Summary:
T To help youth in detention explore diverse career paths and build positive momentum for their future, the Taipei Juvenile Detention House and the Born Anew Youth Care Association jointly organized a "Bakery Discovery" workshop. The event featured professional pastry chefs who shared their industry experiences and guided the youth through the daily realities of a career in baking. In this hands-on session, instructors used an engaging approach to explain ingredient properties and food safety, while leading the youth through the process of measuring, kneading dough, and mastering oven temperatures. Inside the aroma-filled classroom, the participants learned far more than just baking techniques; they experienced the importance of precision, responsibility, and teamwork. Seeing raw flour transform into golden pastries through their own hands provided a profound sense of accomplishment, turning this newfound confidence into a concrete vision for the future. It is hoped that this practical experience will help these young people recognize the value of professional skills, enabling them to secure stable employment after their release and knead a new life filled with independence and hope.
